Universal Basic Income – Redefinition 2019

Yesterday in the article »Das bGE nützt der weiteren Versklavung« I have formulated for me a redefinition of the basic income. Today I would like to explain this a little bit closer.

A basic income is a lifebase that a societly community grants to each of her members without reserve. It should

• as an individual and permanently guaranteed legal claim
• do secure the existence and enable social participation as well as
• without needs-check,
• without compulsion to work or other consideration and
• independent of other types of income
• unlimited at regular intervals
• at free disposal in current legal currency

be paid.
If someone because of illness, disability or other special situation has a necessary additional need more past the universal basic income furthermore, this individual more-need must be granted as a social benefit – then but only on petition and with proof of need.

Every member of a society should get the basic income. It should be a permanent commitment of the society to the individual – that he can rely on always getting the basic income and as a legal claim the basic income should be a defined right and thus enforceable.

Every member of a society should be able to live his life self-determined without existential fear. For this, the provision of the necessary lifebase is the prerequisite. The amount / quantity of the basic income should be such that not only the necessities of life, but also to have the active participating in the societly, cultural and political life is possible.

Every member of a society should be able to participate in »society« without discrimination. That is the purpose of the basic income. A needs test hinders that, because first the right to life of the individual must be granted.
For the right to life there must be no condition »needs test«.

• without compulsion to work or other consideration and

In order to be able to »work«, a person first has to grow up and learn a great many things and find oneself. And at the first his existence must be secured, so that he will find the strength to show acknowledgement to others and also with his work contribute to society.
Apart from the fact that the discussion on a basic income implies that we need to discuss »work« and find a fundamentally new way of looking at that term.
In order to make work possible, a basic income is necessary, therefore »work« may not be a condition for a basic income – nor any other »consideration« as it may always be called.

The basic income should be the base of life. The right to life must not depend on having an income.

• unlimited at regular intervals

Only the assurance that a basic income is indefinite, permanently available, allows people, free from outside coercions to really develop their own personality and to serve the society positively effective.

• at free disposal in current legal currency

Only the assurance that a basic income is indefinite, permanently available, allows people, free from outside coercions to really develop their own personality and to serve the society positively effective.
